my big question:

how did it feel when MxPx joined forces with Mark Hoppus from Blink 182 for the song "The Empire" on The Passion Of The Christ soundtrack in 2012?

(and Matt Thiessen will forever be 23 years old in my mind 😶)

Right? That Passion soundtrack was so eclectic. MxPx, Brad Paisley, Lauryn Hill, POD, Steven Curtis Chapman. Just wild!

Absolutely! I bought it just for the MxPx collab, but the rest of the album grew on me. But, I remember sitting in my dorm at Bible College feeling like such a guilty rebel because the track had a “secular” artist accompanying it. I’m glad that my views on that have evolved since then haha.

Jesus hangs out everywhere. Lucky for us, we're blessed! Have a great day. I loved your selection of music by the way!

Saw MXPX with Goldfinger at a show in DTLA a few years back. Made the unwise decision to enter a moshpit past the age of 45. My head said no but my heart said yes! Needless to say, as I entered the pit I promptly slipped and hit the floor, which was immediately followed by a teenage girl with a green mohawk, facial piercings, and a sneer copped from Sid Vicious himself stomping on me with as much gusto as she could muster ("I'm not your Dad even though I may look like him!"). Moral of the story? MxPx good, mosh pit bad.

PS I really dig this series!
